The word “photography” literally means “drawing with light”

I picked up my camera during the dreaded Covid19 lockdown and found I was instantly in my happy place. From thaton I knew what I wanted to do. The lockdown period gave me ample time to learn the basics and practice in my garden, on my pets and often begrudgingly my two sons and wife.

I am happiest when I am behind a camera, regardless of what I am capturing. All the advise I sought has said find you niche in the photo world. I am starting to think photography is my niche. I do sometimes tend to lean towards people and portraits, but then a weekend on the beachfront and all I want to do is street photography. Then a week in the bush I want to pack up my family and go do wildlife photography.

I recall one particular image I took a friend's son's third birthday, he didn't sit still for a single moment resulting in plenty blurry and out of focus images. He ran inside sat down and looked at me for a single second allowing me to get the below image. That's why I love "drawing with light",
